Private label centella (cica) formulas
Centella asiatica is a herb used widely in skincare, and "cica" is the shorthand many brands use for it. Its extract features in calming-feel routines for skin that looks red or feels uncomfortable. We carry centella in 25 ready formulas, led by creams, then serums, cleansers, toners and a mask. Brands can sample any formula and launch it under their own label from 500 units per product.

Developing a centella (cica) product
Cica ranges sell on calm, comfort and simplicity, so most briefs favour gentle textures, soft green branding and a short ingredient story.
Formats that suit it
- Creams and gel creams are the anchor product in most cica lines. Browse our private label moisturisers.
- Cleansers give the range a gentle first step. See cleansers.
- Serums, toners and pads round out a three- or four-step routine.
Texture and pairing choices
Centella extract, and its named compounds such as madecassoside and asiaticoside, combine well with panthenol, ceramides, allantoin and niacinamide. Many cica formulas use a light green tint from the extract or a colourant, so agree early whether you want a coloured or clear product. Low or no added fragrance is a common choice for this positioning, though it is a brand decision rather than a rule.
Packaging
Tubes and airless pumps suit the hygienic, everyday look of most cica ranges. Botanical extracts can shift colour over time in clear packs, so opaque or tinted packaging can help keep the product looking consistent on shelf.
Claims to check before launch
"Soothing", "calming-feel" and "for skin that looks red" are typical cosmetic wording. Avoid wound-healing, scar, eczema or rosacea claims, which are medicinal in most markets. Any measured claim, such as a reduction in visible redness, needs testing on the finished product. For a bespoke cica blend, see our custom formulation service.
Questions about centella (cica) products
Which centella and cica products can I private label?
We list 25 ready formulas with centella asiatica. Creams make up the largest group, followed by serums, cleansers, toners and mists, plus a mask. Each formula can be sampled first, then produced under your own brand from 500 units per product.
What is the difference between centella and cica?
Centella asiatica is the plant; "cica" is an informal name used in marketing for products built around its extract. On the ingredient list you will see the INCI name, such as Centella Asiatica Extract, or its compounds like madecassoside. Front-of-pack copy can use either term.
Can I make wound or scar claims for a cica cream?
No. Wound, scar or skin-mending claims are medicinal and are not allowed on cosmetics in most markets. Cosmetic phrasing such as "soothing", "calming-feel" or "helps skin look less red" is the usual approach, supported by testing where you make a measurable claim.
