Liquid Developing a niacinamide product
Niacinamide is one of the most versatile actives a new brand can choose. It is stable, dissolves in water and fits into almost any format, so the decisions are mostly about positioning and texture.
Formats that suit it
- Serums and ampoules are the most recognised format. Browse our private label serums.
- Toners and essences work well for daily, all-over use. See toners and mists.
- Gel creams and emulsions suit customers who want one lightweight step instead of a serum plus moisturiser.
Texture and pairing choices
Niacinamide pairs with zinc PCA in shine-control positioning, with hyaluronic acid and panthenol for hydration, and with ceramides for comfort-focused ranges. It is often paired with tranexamic acid, glutathione or liquorice root in "even-looking tone" products. Decide whether your product story is shine, tone or texture, and choose the supporting ingredients to match.
Packaging
Because niacinamide is stable, packaging is mostly a brand decision. Dropper bottles are standard for serums; pumps and tubes suit gels and creams. Use opaque or airless packs only if a partner ingredient needs them.
Claims to check before launch
"Helps skin look more even" or "helps reduce the look of shine" are typical cosmetic claims. Avoid acne, pigmentation-removal or pore-shrinking promises, which read as medicinal. Comparative or time-bound claims, such as visible results in a set number of weeks, need testing on the finished formula. For a different strength story or a bespoke blend, start with custom formulation.
Questions about niacinamide products
Which niacinamide products can I private label?
We list 41 ready formulas containing niacinamide. Most are serums and ampoules, with toners and mists, creams, gels and a foam cleanser. Every formula can be sampled first, then produced under your own brand from 500 units per product with your chosen label and pack.
Is niacinamide the same as vitamin B3?
Niacinamide, also called nicotinamide, is one form of vitamin B3. In cosmetics it is valued because it is water-soluble and stable, so it fits easily into serums, toners and creams. On your label it appears under its INCI name, niacinamide.
Can I put a percentage of niacinamide on the front of the pack?
Many brands do, but any percentage you print must match the actual formula and your manufacturing records. A percentage also tends to imply strength or performance, so make sure any accompanying claim is supported by testing. Your regulatory adviser can confirm how each market handles concentration call-outs.
