Private label green tea and matcha formulas
Green tea is the leaf of Camellia sinensis. In cosmetic formulas it appears as an extract rich in polyphenols, or as matcha, the finely ground whole leaf, and brands use it for its antioxidant positioning and fresh, green identity. Our catalogue carries it in serums, creams, cleansers, mists, a sleeping mask, an eye serum, a hair essence and sunscreens. Brands can sample and brand these from 500 units per product.

Developing a green tea product
Green tea is versatile. Light serums and mists suit a fresh daily story, while creams and sleeping masks carry it into night routines. Matcha has become an identity of its own, with foam cleansers, glow mists and lip products built around its colour and name. Green tea is often paired with caffeine in eye serums and with niacinamide or aloe in creams.
Colour and stability
Green tea extracts can darken over time as their polyphenols oxidise, and matcha brings a green colour that can shift with light. Formulators choose the extract grade and stabilising system to suit the base, and opaque or tinted packs help keep the product looking consistent.
Sunscreens
Green tea appears in some sunscreens in our range, but it does not provide sun protection itself. Any SPF or PA value on a sunscreen must be substantiated by testing the final product according to the rules of the destination market. See ready sun care formulas for options.
Claims to check
- "With green tea extract" and "antioxidant-rich ingredient" describe the ingredient, not the product's effect.
- Product performance claims need consumer or instrumental test data.
- Matcha naming should reflect a real matcha ingredient on the INCI list.
Name the ingredient consistently. The INCI list will show Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract or Camellia Sinensis Leaf Powder, and your front-of-pack wording should match it.

Questions about green tea products
Is matcha the same as green tea extract?
Both come from the green tea plant, Camellia sinensis. Matcha is the whole leaf ground into a fine powder, so it brings colour and texture as well as the leaf's compounds. Green tea extract is a concentrate of selected compounds from the leaf and is usually clear or lightly tinted in a formula.
Does green tea add sun protection to a formula?
No. Green tea is not a UV filter and does not give a product an SPF. Sunscreens in our range rely on approved UV filters, and any SPF or PA value must be substantiated by testing the finished product according to the rules of each destination market.
What is the minimum order for a private label green tea product?
Ready formulas in our catalogue start from 500 units per product, including serums, creams, cleansers and mists. Request samples first to check texture, scent and feel, then choose your pack and add your own branding. Changes to the formula, scent or packaging are quoted separately, based on your brief.
