Private label turmeric formulas

Turmeric is the root of Curcuma longa, a spice long used in Indian beauty rituals. In cosmetic formulas it is added as an extract, powder or infused oil, mainly for its warm golden colour and its place in traditional routines for radiant-looking skin. Our catalogue carries it chiefly in massage and body oils, plus a body butter, a day cream and a cream mask. Brands can sample and brand them from 500 units.

Developing a turmeric product

Most turmeric products in our range are body and massage oils, where turmeric is infused into base oils such as sesame, coconut or almond and often paired with sandalwood or warming spices. Turmeric also suits rich formats such as body butters and wash-off cream masks, which fit the familiar idea of a turmeric face pack.

Colour and staining

Turmeric's yellow pigment, curcumin, can stain skin, nails, towels and fabric. This is the main formulation question. Brands decide how much colour they want to show, use a lighter extract where staining would be a problem, and print clear directions for use. Rinse-off masks, and massage oils used before bathing, manage this well.

Packaging

Curcumin's colour can fade with light, so tinted or opaque bottles help keep the product looking consistent on the shelf. Check that pumps and closures do not discolour in contact with the oil.

Claims to check

  • Heritage wording such as "inspired by traditional Indian rituals" is safer than performance claims.
  • "Glow" or "brightening" claims need test data before use.
  • Do not present traditional uses as health benefits.

Scent and base oil

Turmeric has an earthy, slightly spicy scent of its own. Most brands round it out with sandalwood, rose, vetiver or orange notes, and choose the base oil to match the story: sesame for a traditional massage oil, almond or coconut for a lighter everyday body oil.

Our custom formulation service can build a turmeric blend and scent to your brief.

Questions about turmeric products

Will a turmeric product stain skin or clothes?

It can. Curcumin, the pigment that gives turmeric its colour, may leave a yellow tint on skin, nails, towels and fabric. Formulators manage this by choosing the type and amount of turmeric, using rinse-off formats and printing clear directions for use. Samples let you test this before you place an order.

Which formats suit turmeric best?

Massage and body oils are the most common turmeric format in our catalogue, followed by body butters, creams and wash-off masks. Oils carry turmeric's warm colour well, while rinse-off masks fit the familiar idea of a turmeric face pack. The right choice depends on your brand story and target market.

What is the minimum order for a private label turmeric product?

Ready formulas in our catalogue start from 500 units per product, including massage oils, body butters and cream masks. Request samples first to check texture, scent and feel, then choose your pack and add your own branding. Changes to the formula, scent or packaging are quoted separately, based on your brief.
